| BILLY PIKKEL is self sufficient for garlic, beetroot, onions and potatoes. In summer he lives on his allotment . In winter he moves down to a terraced house on the outskirts of Blackburn and records his witty observational songs on an 8 track in the back room. He makes all the covers himself, printing them on an old Adana hand press. He moulds the records from discarded plant pots and sells them at the local record shop. Me and My Babies is the true story of his journey to Scotland in a Morris Minor van 'me and my babies, we went travelling in a Don Quixote van, an A-series powered tin can' |
